Mental Health Care

Calm, structured, dignified support

Who this is for

The Kind Of Resident This Serves Best.

Adults living with anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, PTSD, or other long-term mental health conditions who benefit from a structured, predictable, low-stimulation environment with caregivers trained to recognize early signs of crisis.

Our approach

How We Actually Do This.

Mental health care is a specialty for us, not an afterthought. Many adult family homes turn these residents away — we welcome them. Our caregivers are trained in de-escalation, in noticing the small shifts that often precede a difficult day, and in keeping the daily rhythm steady so that the home itself becomes therapeutic. We coordinate closely with each resident's psychiatrist, therapist, and care team to make sure medications, appointments, and crisis plans are handled correctly.

"My brother has schizophrenia and we were turned away from four other adult family homes before finding Simon. Genet didn't flinch. She asked the right questions, listened, and now my brother is calmer and more himself than he's been in a decade."

Common questions

What Families Ask Us.

Do you accept residents with bipolar disorder or schizophrenia?
Yes. Mental health care is a specialty for us. We work closely with each resident's psychiatric team to keep their care plan steady and effective.
How do you handle a mental health crisis?
Our caregivers are trained in de-escalation. We have a written crisis plan for each resident developed with their psychiatrist, and we know when to call which professional. Family is notified immediately.
Will my loved one still see their own therapist?
Yes. Existing therapy and psychiatric appointments continue. We coordinate transportation and keep providers updated.
Can my loved one have a difficult day without being asked to leave?
Of course. A difficult day is part of life with a mental health condition. We handle them with patience — that's the whole point of being a specialist home.
