Built By Someone Who Has Done This Work For Years.
Genet Tesgye spent years caring for elders and people living with mental health challenges before founding Simon Adult Family Home. She watched too many residents disappear into oversized facilities where the rotation of caregivers meant nobody really knew them — not their fears, not their favorite foods, not the family photos on their nightstands.
So she built something different. A home of three. Caregivers who learn names and stories on day one. Meals cooked from scratch. Space for the family to drop in for coffee. The kind of place she'd want for her own parents.
That's the entire philosophy. There is no clever marketing on top of it.
What We Promise Families.
Dignity, Always
Residents are addressed by name, not condition. Care is given gently, never rushed, never with the door left open.
Truly Small
Three bedrooms means each resident is genuinely known. No revolving caregivers, no anonymity, no falling through cracks.
A Real Home
Not an institution dressed up as one. The cooking smells, the open garden door, the comfortable couches — this is a house first.
Cultural Fluency
English and Amharic are spoken here. Meals can reflect East African traditions or whatever else feels familiar to a resident.
Family Hours, Anytime
No restricted visiting windows. Drop by at breakfast, after work, or on a Saturday morning. Your loved one is still part of your family.
Mental Health Welcomed
Many homes turn away residents with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or severe anxiety. We don't. This is a specialty for us.
